Prayers for a dear friend of ours ...

Michael,

Just read through the 15 pages of this thread. We've not had direct communications, still I'm touched by the river of love and connections flowing from and to you. I am moved by your presence and the questions you asked Carol, and all of us. Even though none of us gets out of this (life) alive, In my experience there's nothing quite like coming face to face with the reality of our own mortality.

Tomorrow I take my handpan to play for a friend who is nearing the end. She's been writing a blog for the last 3 years, sharing her thoughts and journey of living on the edge of death and dying, which she has done for most of her 50 plus years. Two years ago she was told she had a couple of months. Now she has been told that again. At this time her words are increasingly about releasing. She, like you, is generous in reminding us to deal with death....even as the very naming of it sparks resistance. The taboo's of western culture are like vines, choking us, keeping us separate. The fear you've mentioned, that somehow if we look into the eyes of someone who is "sick" we will be sucked in and caught in the web of death. When the truth is, as you've said, it is the connection of eye to eye, being seen, known, heart to heart, that is the access to the healing of love and relatedness. It is possible to be in the process of dying with more health than some live with.

As I play for her, I'll send the music of being with our living and dying across the world to you as well.

Much love, peace, harmony, and gentle soothing music to you, Michael of the gentle soul and heart full communications <3 <3

Hey Michael,

What an amazing story you brought to paper here, I read it in German yesterday! <3 <3 <3

You really have talent as a writer, it was very moving to read. Thanks so much for sharing this story with us. Also I have to say, great what you did to honour your uncle. To fulfill his biggest wish, even with all this barriers ahead, really shows how important person he was for you and tells me a lot about your beautiful character Michael.

I'm thinking of you Michael and wish you all the best from my heart. With the support of god all changes are possible.... and god loves you!

Yours,
Felix

ooooops - Michael - I couldn't find a postcard yesterday; this is a very strange town, lots of tourism - and no postcards - only "real" foldable cards. But of course, I made sure to address it correctly, as Phoenix pointed out:

Saint Michael Ohl, Brother of the Light.

And I drew a lot on it, in the same spirit in which you wrote about the lucky funeral. And then I went to my jamming cafe for lunch, where I joked around with the owners, and then I came home and played PanTamAnya. Finally beginning to get a little back in practice. She's sounding pretty good, since Colin did such a nice job with her.

This morning, I read some more of your lucky-funeral doc. ha. haha. hahahaha! You REALLY catch the distress and confusion, and through it all shines your determination to fulfill Gabriel's last wishes. Oh, it's so much YOU; who you are. I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it and look forward to reading more. My eyes will only read for so long before they need a bit of a rest.

And - last night, my paper towel roll became empty. I try not to use too many. And when I buy them, I try to buy plain, not printed ones.

But - when I opened the new roll - I got a big surprise.

Printed.

BUTTERFLIES! :giggle: :D

So, for the next while, EVERY time I use a paper towel, I'll flutter around like a butterfly, and think of you.

Sending a new tune or two (will record with camera - all I have - sometime), and enjoying playing again. And sending you more looooooooooooooooooooooooooove! <3 <3 <3

my problem in life:
I was sent at the age of 5 six weeks in the black forest.
no letter, no phone call.
no brother no sister, no parents.........
Every evening I had to eat cheese bread and I hated strong cheese.
Every evening I had to stand up in front of 100 children
climbing on the bench and i had to sing a song in front of all.
But I couldn´t sing...............

these six weeks were horror.
I cried every night
they rested any where in my brain..
last year I imagined a friends who was there with me....
and i met him later but i was not enough................................
then came the tumor and with the help of Ellen I cried two nights in a hospital:
Ellen said only: Michael dindn´t want to live any more
................
and I cried two nights in hospital.
At the end it was solved and -I felt and knew.
I will live
42 years inside my brain..............................

no wonder....with the apple

now i am free.....
and i met 5 people in hospitals who told me the same story and that the whole life was destroyed and problems with marriage and money and drugs.....
because or little children were sent to horror.....

Happy Day Today Michael,

6 inches of fresh new wet white heavy snow fell while sleeping. I was going to be unhappy about having to work outside clearing the driveway and walkway to our house. Then, I remembered your apple and one arm and Lion Heart.

Now, in your honor, I will whistle while I work. I hope you have a good day today.

From snowy New England, USA.
